The Magic of Power Hour

I know some people read the title and probably thought the power hour you used to play in your college dorm when getting ready for the night.

NOPE! Not that.

I'm talking about the power hour used for your business. The one that is going to push you forwarding allow you to focus.

It's really for anyone but I always say to use power :

A. If you don't have much time throughout the day
B. busy student
C. A mom
D. Always on the go
E. career lady
F. anything else you can the of

Certainly make sure you get one FULL hour of UNINTERRUPTED time. That means shutting your Facebook notifications off, turning your cell phone off/put it away (out of reach), and go somewhere there are no distractions. You want to do this everyday, at the same time if it workouts that way, and if you have more time after your day feel free to do a little more.

You want to make sure you are doing the same things everyday to grow your business. Think about what will help you now to grow in the future? Your list may look different than mine and it is totally okay but you really want to focus and and make sure the. 3 vital behaviors are defiantly on there.

So, what does my power hour consist of?.....

I know an hour seems like a lot, but truly if you try this out I promise you that you will feel ten times better & feel like you actually got something accomplished. Instead of feeling scattered, all over the place, and like you can't get anything fully done. I may not always have hours upon hours to work this business full time because I do have a desk job which requires me to be in the office 8 hours out of my day, but I make it work for me. And since I do not have all that time I want to make sure I utilize my time to the MAX .

So, how are you using your time? Do you feel like you are getting everything done you need to? What tips do you ??

Productivity...How to use your Time Wisely

Time.

We all have the same 24 hours in a day.

But how we use it is what makes us different.

Do you ever feel like you wake up in the morning & you are literally turning right around and going to bed? Thinking to yourself, "where has this day gone and what did I get done."

Trust me, I know. I used to always think where did my time go. And why is my to-do list still the same size when I woke up.

Coming up with a system to increase your productivity  is major. To get anything done you must cut out the nonsense. You must sit down and plan out your day (yes things come up) but if you stick to a list or game plan you will increase productivity by a lot.

So what do you need to do?

1. Make a to-do list for the next day before you go to bed.

2. Start with whatever task is the hardest or will take the longest.

3. Set a timer when working on one. (If you only want to be blogging for thirty minutes. Set a timer and work for that long)

4. Check off your items as you finish, you will fill more accomplished.

5. If you're on Facebook working, turn OFF your notifications. (Who's guilty of everytime a notification or ding goes off you look? You are getting distracted) remember you are trying to use your timely wisely.

6. Turn your phone on silent and flipped over.

7. And how to choose what to do to be productive?? Write a list of ten goals you want to accomplish over the next year starting today. (These goals can be anything) identify your "push" goal, it is something like being financially free, own a beach house, etc. This is the major goal you are working towards and this will help you determine what you should be doing everyday. These small daily  to dos are going to get you to that goal.

Put your head down.
Get to work.
Keep your eye on the prize.
And remember we all have the same 24 hours in the day, how you choose to spend those hours is up to you!

Excuses Will Hold You Back

What was your New Years Resolution?

How are you making out so far?

Did you realize we are halfway through the year?

You either do realize or you don't. And that ms when you have to have a long talk with yourself & kick your butt into gear.

I think about my fitness journey and my "ideal" body. My excuses certainly outweighed what I wanted most. The bad food cravings, chocolate, many drinks, skipping workouts, stopping at fast food ordering a salad (even though it's not all that good for you.

You can't out exercise a bad diet- rule # 1.

You have a goal to lose weight, but then doughnuts are placed in front of you & you tell yourself one won't  hurt (which it won't) but one turns into two and so on. Then you start to crave sugar. And where did your goal go?? PUSHED TO THE SIDE.

If I let my excuses win everytime, I would be no where. I would be unhappy & miserable just like I was before I started. Focus on short term sacrifices for long term results and gratification.

We all have 24 hours in a day. But the ones who are successful choose to spend their time wisely.

excuses

-plan your day out
-if you have to get up earlier to make sure your stuff is done: DO IT
- if you have to stay up later: DO IT
-focus on one task at a time
-get your biggest project done first
-make a to-do list
-make sacrifices
-work hard so you can celebrate when you reach your milestone

**Remember if you want something bad enough (weight loss or in your personal life) you have to make time. You have to get rid of the excuses and get ready to work**

Success doesn't come free; but it's worth it in the end!!

Time Management

Do you have a problem with time management. Are you one of those people who feels like they are going to pull their hair out and thinks there is just not enough time in the day to get things done. Ever feel like you have a million and one things to do, but how are you going to find the time to do it?

I struggled/struggle with the problem all the time, although, I must admit though I am getting better. So I figured if I struggle I am sure there are other people out there who struggle and may just need some tips to help them through and feel like there has been a little weight lifted off their shoulders.

A. Make a list of 5 categories that are important to you (1 being the most important). Once you make this list you need to start putting things in which your top five list will see the benefits from. These aren't the only things you will focus on, but if these are things you value, you want to add value in your life.

B.  Prioritize your To-Do List. It may be the most dreaded thing ever but this really cuts off unwanted wandering and straying. Link A & B so before you go to bed think of everything you have to do the next morning. Once you do that make sure you are putting list A and those priorities first. So, everything you have listed as #1 : what on your list will help you achieve that...etc.

C. Stay away from distractions. When you are working on your to-do list (and I need to get better at this) stay off social media, turn your cell phone off ; put it away. Do not be a social media stalker. It is so easy to get distracted when scrolling through Facebook, or spend hours on Pinterest...right?

D. Make Sacrifices. Everyone has the same amount of hours in the day. Some days (depending) on your list; you may need to get up earlier than usually and sometimes even stay up later. Maybe skipping your favorite TV show for a later date. And even say no to some plans in the making.

E. When you finish a task make sure you check it off the list. There is nothing better than the feeling of crossing something off your to-do list. You feel a little better knowing you are one step closer to finishing your list.

Time Management is by far one of the hardest things for some people. We get caught up in the moment. We don't realize that there is only twenty-four hours in the day. Or if we do, we do not know how to properly use it. Sometimes all we need to do is rearrange our schedule every once in a while.

If you are looking to learn a little more about Time Management and how you can better your time or come up with different ideas, I just finished reading the book called "Time Management" by Brian Tracy it is an easy read ; and highly recommended.
